Biodiesel is an alternative fuel produced from plan oils, animal fats or restaurant grease. It is used primarily as a transportation fuel in diesel engines and can also be used as a heating fuel in boilers. As its production increases in the United States, responders need to be prepared for the possibility of biodiesel fires. This video helps emergency responders understand what biodiesel is, how it is created and used, what makes it different from other alternative fuels and how to plan for and respond to biodiesel incidents.
